Papa John Kolstad Challenges Secretary of State Kiffmeyer to Do the Right Thing
"All I'm asking is that she save taxpayer dollars and do the right thing," said Papa John Kolstad.
Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer's Office informed Papa John Kolstad he will now be on the ballot for Attorney General as, "John Kolstad". In this same letter, her office validates the 2900+ signatures nominating Papa John Kolstad for Attorney General as the Green Party candidate.
"If that's how people nominated me, how can she change it?!" Kolstad stated, "the law is clear, names you are commonly know by are legal on the ballot. Just ask Jesse Ventura."
Papa John Kolstad noted that unlike "Chief" Finney and "Sheriff" Fletcher, which are titles, nicknames are routinely allowed on the ballot. For example: Hubert H. "Skip" Humphrey III, Norm Coleman, Tim Pawlenty and of course, Jesse Ventura.
Papa John Kolstad has challenged Secretary Kiffmeyer to correct her office's error and do the right thing. He's given her until August 10th to verify the correction.
Legal actions to correct errors, omissions and wrongful acts on the ballot are filed originally with the Minnesota Supreme Court. Papa John Kolstad is ready to file with the Supreme Court if necessary.
